So we had a long day yesterday. We got to the airport two and a half hours early. We finally got to the gate about an hour before we were to board, but let the girls run for a little while. I am so thankful that my dad was able to be there to help out. God totally provided yesterday, and in ways I wasn't expecting. Atalie cried most of the trip, but I had a great couple of ladies around me that kept trying to entertain her. She was totally spent by the time we arrived...only slept for maybe 15 minutes all day! Inger on the other hand did pretty well. She slept for maybe 20 minutes :) but all in all the flight actually felt like it went by fast. When we arrived my sis and mom were waiting with open arms. It was great. We had a quick dinner and then an hour trip home. On our way we saw some beautiful sights. The Capitol, the Washington monument, the Jefferson memorial, all sorts of amazing historic sights. It was great. A good end to the day. So, bottom line is that God is good. Even in the midst of chaos and wanting to just flat out cry, He is my stay. The peace that surpasses all understanding...(sigh)

Ampa found a new little park!

Today we got a concrete patio poured and I finished up all the details of the trip to see B. He woke me up this morning with a phone call. It was the best way to wake up! He is doing great, and though it's hard, God is working in a mighty way right now. I got a little down on myself the lately because I haven't been in the word much lately. And how I should be doing all I can do to fight well during this time. That all that we go through is for others and to serve others, that the comfort we receive from Christ is to help those who need to be comforted. But even though I fail, He has reminded me in beautiful little ways that He is providing and caring for us. It is very humbling to think that the Almighty would have time to help me. Little ol' me. I haven't done anything, I can't do anything, and He knows I will only fail. "He remembers we are but dust"...I love that. He knows, and He still loves and pursues. He is a warrior, strong and victorious, burning with passion for His bride. Oh to think and muse on that tonight.

We had a fun filled day today. Caiden came over to play for most of the day (he is such a gem to have) and then at small group tonight, they busted out the big slide! It was in the 70s, but it didn't feel like it for long. The kids had a blast. Thank you A and T for the fun!

I did the survivor mud run today. The weather was drizzly, but the girls were pretty good. The race itself was absolutely fun. The only thing is that I had to wait three different times to go over an obstacle...one of them I waited for over 40 minutes. So, looking at my time that was clocked for me, I'm a little slow (25 min miles!). It's all good though. It was really fun to do. I can't wait to do another one.

Inger met a friend...her daddy is in the CG as well. There were a few of them that were running in it.

I had to add this picture because Inger just looks so darn cute!

Yeah! I finished...And yes, I am giving a thumbs up because I am cheesy and excited all at the same time. This picture really doesn't do justice to the amount of mud clinging to me. In the words of Inger later... "mommy stinky" - translation, I needed a shower :)

Well, we got through almost a full week. We heard from B last night, and boy did I have a gitty-up in my step. It was just an email, but to hear from him that he is doing good and succeeding was such an encouragement. It made going to work today that much better. I don't think I even slept last night I was so excited. When we were dating, I would get like this, so excited when he would call and just jazzed to hear from him...that he still was diggin' me. Now, it's like that but better. My husband, my best friend, my love is not with me, but to hear his voice (even if it's through an email) is whipped cream, hot fudge, cherries and lots and lots of sprinks!

The girls got to talk to him today. He called when I was at work, but Inger was so funny. She kept randomly talking to him on his old cell phone and would bring him up in our conversations. It's pretty cute.

(Benny boy boo boo...hahaha...just kidding...if you are reading this, I am so proud of you! The man you are, the man you are becoming, the way God is molding you to serve Him wherever you are at, I am truly blessed to be your wife! Thank you for all you do!)

Today was a lot better. The girls and I had a full day of running around, painting, and playing. It's fun to get little projects done around the house. Not only does it keep my mind off of things but it also is exciting to know how suprised B will be when he gets home. (note: I am not doing anything that we haven't already talked about...just to set the record straight :) )

On that note...we are getting our deck done...and today we were finally able to enjoy some sunshine on it! It is soooo great! I cannot say enough about it. Tom did an amazing job on it and I'm so excited for B to come home and see it. He will love it!

B went to the airport bright and early this morning (or should I say, bright and early when I got back). Just kind of in 'go' mode now. The girls were kind of a wreck tonight, but sundays are always a little harder with church in the morning. I'm missing my husband right now. I got to talk to him for a few minutes today. He even tried to call me after he got to base, but had to hang up almost immediately. I'm just preparing myself for not talking to him for three weeks ... although the phone is right next to me in case he calls :) God is good. The sermon this morning was just for me...Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth and the life"...all anxiety about anything, all concerns or fears, all doubts and unbelief, all of it is answered in this. He says, "believe in Me, believe that I and the Father are One, that I am in Him and He is in Me...Trust in Me." Oh, it was soo good. If you want to hear it, here is the website. Thank You Jesus that You are the way, the truth and the life, that no one comes to the Father except through You. Thank You that You desire all to know this, and You graciously opened my eyes to see this truth.

Yep, 6 months. And what a road we have been on. Atalie is one now, walking and is starting to show her personality. She is a pretty happy little girl, but has a strong side to her for sure. Inger is two, and we are in the midst of so much learning. Bennett is getting ready to gear up and serve our country, and I am so incredibly proud of him and proud to call him my husband. What an amazing man he is and is becoming. God has worked in him in such an incredible way this last year, it leaves me speechless. Thank You Lord for this life You have given. So, I am going to try and start posting again. Amidst all the chaos and change, Lord willing I can share all the joys and sorrows, laughter and tears with you all.

I cannot believe how fast it is going...well, yes I can. It's crazy and though sometimes it's rough, I do love this. These girls are so funny. We started introducing some solids, which I was kind of dreading, but it's going fine...just one more mess to clean up :) I was thinking about it today though, it's only going to be a short time until she learns to do it all on her own, like her big sis.

Daddy had his 30th birthday today! And got to celebrate it out at the stuga. Boy oh boy was it beautiful! God provided amazing weather and a great time for us. Thank You Jesus for creating my amazing husband 30 years ago! How blessed I am to have him as my best friend, my leader, my love. Times can be hard, but thank You Lord that You guided and blessed me with such a man. Thank You for the work You have done in Him. We met four years ago on the 5th, and I cried in front of him to try and get rid of him...I thought it would work :) Jesus, thank You for giving him the same desire and you gave me. That we may share the rest of our lives together, growing in grace. And thank You for blessing us with such amazing and funny girls. Give us the strength and wisdom to raise them to know and honor You.

My friend gave me this quote a while ago, and I keep seeing it in my kitchen. It is a good reminder in difficult times of the sovereign perspective I am to have. That God Almighty is overseeing all things and knows all things. That though I struggle with my might, He is the constant Rock that is beneath me. That no trial, nor trouble, nor anything can separate me from that. I may not feel warm arms embracing me, but He has never let go. I may not see a clear path, but His eyes are always passionately leading me. My flesh is weak. At times it is hard to fight, but like it says, it is for some greater purpose.

Lord, give me strength this day to honor Your name. It is You who have given me a purpose in life. In Your presence is fullness of joy, and at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Let my heart rejoice in that, though my flesh is weak.

Weathering the Storm

I was talking to my sister the other day about all the chaos in our lives. She has three kids and is really what I would consider the proverbs 31 woman. She was encouraging me that I am in the midst of weathering the storm. Atalie has gone through a growth spurt and is starting to sleep more overnight, but during the day, especially when we have things going on, she can get mighty unhappy... and she her dinosaur roar comes out. Inger had either a bug or has been teething or who knows, but she has had a rough last week and a half. During that time she decided she doesn't need to suck her fingers anymore. And because of that she hasn't been sleeping well. Thankfully we are starting to see the light out of the tunnel, though. So, in the midst of these crazy times, my Jesus is still strengthening me. So, here are a few verses that I am trying to marinate in as a reminder of His goodness.

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. My dad made a kitchen for us girls when we were young. Well, my aunt just brought it up for the girls to be the next in line to play with it. Inger already loves having her own cupboards to open.

Here are some old pictures of when my dad was actually building it. He was and is a very talented builder. This was just one of the many construction projects he did. I remember waking up some Saturday mornings, and going out to the garage to the smell of sawdust. (I love that smell!) He would let me help a lot, but not so much with the saw until I was a lot older. I'm looking forward to our girls having fun memories with their daddy like I did.

Atalie is 2 months old Tuesday! I can't believe it's been that long...time is flying! She is smiling a bunch more and chatting when she can. It's really fun to see. Inger has been helpful too. The other day after Atalie fed, Inger scrambled to get one of her t-shirts. She quickly came back over and started wiping Atalie's face, just in case she spit up. What a cutie!

There are so many things that have happened since I wrote last. We moved into our new place, had a few false alarms with baby girl, and she finally arrived april 29...close to her due date. If you would have told me back at 30 weeks that I would go to term, I would have laughed, and I think I did on occasion when other moms told me their stories. But she arrived after just an hour and a half of intense labor. Looks so much like her sister did. I did some double takes a few times in the hospital because she reminded me so much of Inger. What a jewel though. Inger is getting along so well too. She sometimes just wants to be held at the same time, but she is so sweet to her baby sister. She gives her kisses and everything. It's really fun to see. God is gracious. And I do have to say He was ever so faithful with all the fears I had of labor. I cried out to Him countless times about getting to the hospital in enough time, having time for antibiotics to protect her, the nurses, the midwife, strength to endure all the pain... and He provided and gave me peace through them all. What an amazing God...Jehovah Jireh.

Yet again, it's been forever. We have moved to our new house and still have boxes around. It's nice though that we don't have to rush things. We have the essentials up, so that is good. I'm 38 weeks now, and so grateful that God allowed me to go this far. I'm happy to have her anytime now!!! I do know what that means though, and I'm am cherishing every minute that I have with just Inger.

Well, we officially got the house on wednesday! So, we are slowly moving in. It's hard to do during the week with work and such. And I can't help out too much, other than little things and keeping an eye on Inger...and she is all over the place. Now that she is walking, boy oh boy! It's great though. We went over to get the keys on wednesday and the cutest old couple came, introduced themselves and welcomed us to the neighborhood. What sweeties they are! It's nice to know some of the neighbors too. I think tonight we will get everything moved over, and at least get the essentials up so that we can stay there tomorrow night. Yipee!!

Another month has gone by...April will soon be here. We have been so busy this last month that I almost don't remember it! Between buying a house, moving, mom visiting, sister visiting, trips to the hospital because of contractions, and just your average every day craziness, it's been a whirlwind. Today we go and sign our papers for the house! It's pretty exciting! We started talking abou this and looking at houses a while ago, and I just prayed that God would open the doors to what we could afford and that would be a good fit for us. And most importantly that it would be honoring to Him. And it's happening.

Since we moved out of our rental and are waiting to close on the other house, we are staying with Gram and Papa...Inger is having a hayday. It's funny too because we were in a similar situation last year. Last year, not only was I pregnant for part of the time we were living here, but the first months of Inger's life were spent in this house. This year I'm pregnant and instead of having a sleepy (sorta) newborn, Inger walks around, plays with toys, talks and dances whenever she hears a beat. And boy does she love Papa. The other day we even heard her say "papa". It was so cute.

Lord willing, in the next few days we will move into our new house and I will be able to share some pictures.

It's crazy how much has happened these last few weeks. Inger showed me that she knows how to drink from a straw (I caught her drinking from my water bottle...cutest thing ever!), she turned one year old and now she is starting to walk. One year flies by so fast. And what a fun and crazy year it has been!

I will extol You, my God, O King, and I will bless Your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless You, and I will praise Your name forever and ever. Taking His Name...

I was reading in a book and part of it was talking on the covenant of marriage. This part really stuck out to me. I had always thought it was neat and kind of old fashion to address letters as Mrs. his name so and so. Not that I actually did it, in fact I thought it was king of out dated. Well, that is actually how God sees us. When God sees us (married that is), He sees our husband first. We are under him, part of him, one with him. So it is to His glory that we are taking our husbands name. And it is to His honor that we acknowledge that. It is the submissive beautiful covenant that God has bestowed on us. Another neat part of this that just came to my mind was thinking about how God, when He saves us, gives us a new name...His. And we are seen as in Christ. We don't have our fathers name anymore...the father of lies. We bear Christ's name! We are His bride and get to enjoy and reflect all that He is! So, when God views us, though we are sinful and wretched, Christ and His blood is what is seen. And Christ is perfect and righteous. So that is how God sees us. How amazing is that!

Prickles

Last night I was sitting in a position where my legs started losing the circulation. When I moved, the rush of blood flowing back down started a painful prickle that remained for a while. It got me thinking about my relationship with God. I think there are times that the circulation is totally good. I'm moving free and all. But there are times where I get stagnant and the flow doesn't seem to be there. It's not until I move that the nourishment and health can supply me again. And boy does it hurt. It's painful disciplining yourself after time spent sedentary. And there are things that have to be opened again. It pricks and pokes, but slowly the pain eases up and movement is free. All just being a reminder that God never allows His children to remain stagnant in their life. He wants us to grow and develop, not be sedentary in our freedom in Him.

Inger just seems to have shot up! Her head nearly touches the table now, and for some reason when she got up to play her elmo keyboard, she seemed to be leaning over. Maybe it's just me, but my little bug has gotten bigger. It is exciting and quite honestly soon there will be another little bug to hold...eey-yie-yie! I'm excited to hold another little peanut, so fragile and helpless. And they snuggle up right to you (well, at least Inger did, don't know what the next one will be like). Either way, I'm stoked.

I don't want to have a blog to complain, but I really want to share my experience lately. Anyone who thinks that purchasing from mystrollers.com is a deal, think again. I ordered something from them that they said was in stock...it wasn't. It took close to a month to receive it and their customer service was horrible! Even when I talked to a manager, he was rude and unwilling to help. So, I finally got my item, (purchased begining of Jan, just received it yesterday!) and I won't purchase from them again. So, don't be fooled by their bright red print that says "in stock" you may be waiting close to a month to get it. I called it false advertising, but they didn't seem to think so. What a joke!

It's been a pretty busy week here. I picked up some extra work, so we've all been exhausted. Inger is as funny as ever though. I found this at the store the other day and thought I would give it a try. Inger loves it!!! The only thing is there isn't that much iron in it. But it's a good little breakfast food.

Start of a New Year!

My friend used to say that starting a new journal was like starting fresh. So this is my fresh start to this year. Over the past few months we've been busy with travel, sickness, holidays, a car accident, friends passing away, housing drama, plus all of the usual chaos of everyday life and work. Through all of these joys and sorrows, though, God has been ever so faithful to sustain and be the Rock that He is. The song 'it is well with my soul' rang true so many times, especially this last month. I know I am not facing what Spafford faced when he wrote that amazing hymn, but in the small trials and troubles I have daily, my soul sings it.
"whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say, it is well, it is well with my soul..." (Though I am still learning this, the joy that comes from knowing your soul is well and at peace with God, nothing else matters.)

Inger is doing all sorts of things these days. She is crawling like crazy, pulling herself up and walking along the couch or using her little walker. It's the funniest thing to see. She's pretty chatty and her personality is getting funnier and funnier.

We found out on Christmas that we are having another girl. They will be around 14 months apart and busy! She is 23 weeks old now and it's hard to believe that we are getting that much closer to seeing her itty bitty face.

Gram got to babysit while we celebrated our second anniversary. The food was amazing, but I couldn't eat too much of it. Bread is what sounded the best. Starting to get a little sick to my stomach...yipee. Then we went and saw the 3-D version of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. That was funny. I remember the book as a kid.

This morning I was going through some bills and budget stuff trying to figure out how things work out...especially with the future...wondering about if I should be working more or how we will take care of things in the coming year. As I got more and more anxious about this, I stopped and went to the source of my comfort. I know there are so many fears and anxieties that we all have daily that we battle, and I hope that these verses and truths will speak peace to you as it has to me.

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." -Phil 4:6-7

"You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts You." -Isaiah 26:3

"Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all of your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you." -1Pet 5:6-7

"Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be shaken." -Ps 55:22 (This whole psalm is worth reading!)

"Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ who gave Himself for our sins so that He might rescue us from this evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be the glory forevermore. Amen." -Gal 1:3-5

God knows all the things that we need. He is the Creator and sustainer of all things. Nothing is too big for Him, nor is anything too small for Him. He will provide, protect, comfort, and heal. He already has done this. I hope that these verses would comfort those who are hurting, and that you may cry out to Him who hears you...that you may lay prostrate before the Almighty Creator and sob with grateful tears that He has provided a way for us to rest, a way for us to have peace, a way for us to be with Him. Nothing can, has or ever will compare to that truth. "Oh, the depths of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgements and unfathomable His ways." Rom 11:33

Over the last few months, life took a little turn. I was feeling tired, grouchy, worn out and worn down. Nothing seemed to help. I was frusterated easily and too exhauseted to do anything. I tried to go for runs to get my groove back, but even that was painful - and not in a good way. I just didn't have the energy. It was taking everything in me to get anything done. I went to the doctor because I had pulled a muscle in my neck, and she ended up doing lab work on me. Turns out I have thyroid problems. So there was a reason for all the craziness after all. I'm just now starting to get more energy and feeling better. I don't have to go through the day having to take naps and not feeling rested. It's better. And I can't thank God enough that it was diagnosed when it was. Jehovah Jireh!!!

I've been kinda nervous about sharing any of this because then whoever reads this will know what is in my heart. Lately, I've been convicted of where I really am with God and why I seek Him. So often I find myself wanting to read my bible to have a better marriage, a happier family, for things or to try and justify why I should get my way. But at the heart of it, I don't think I have been really seeking God for who He is. This life is meaningless unless it is encompassed in His love for His glory. There is no true justice without Him, nor is there true love apart from Him. The way that the flowers bloom and the way that the sun sets, the way that the birds chirp, the lions roar, the dolphins swim, the shark attacks, all are amazing creations that God has done for His glory, but mere drops in a bucket from the vast ocean of His greatness. So often I find myself getting caught up in things that are meaningless. How am I going to get the cleaning done, the laundry done, get to work, finish the budget, do all these things...mere toils of this earth, instead of enjoying all that He has given and worshiping Him through all things. He doesn't give us things so that we can cry about it and then just pass off for someone else to do. He gives us things so that through perserverance and encouragement of the scriptures we may have hope. This hope doesn't disappoint because of Christ. If His hope disappointed us, I think we should reevaluate what we are hoping in. Is it carnal, earthly pleasures that will only last for a short time? Is it property, money, or stature? Is it power, prestige, prosperity, luxury and comfort? This flesh that battles against our spirit is fighting for these things, but the spirit is wanting so much more that these things cannot satisfy. Only Christ can because only He has given us peace with God. So often we pray to "God" thinking we will then get our way. But do we trully know Him and His peace? We are covered in robes that are ripped and ragged, stained and destroyed. Our bodies are bent to selfishness, scarred from impurities and dripping with deceit. And we think that we can just cry out to God, in the state we are in, and He will let us have our way? Would we dare go to a black tie event in a torn up shirt we sleep in? (And that is playing it down.) He has declared us to be an enemy because of the wrongs we have done against Him. BUT GOD, being rich in mercy, sent Christ to make peace. And with that peace He robes us in rightness, so now we can cry, "Abba, Father" in time of need! We can say, "Lord help! I am weak and afflicted, burdened and beaten!" He gives us His Spirit thru Christ so we can know what His will is and know His love and eternal life now! Oh, the riches of His mercy! So, for those that read this, may you be convicted of seeking things and the results of things rather than seeking Him who created you, as I am convicted of such things. Our world is deteriorating, our economy dwindling, our bodies decaying, but the Lord be our stay.

Oh, how thankful we are that we live in the land of the free! Thank you God for establishing America the beautiful. Though nothing compares to Your kingdom, we are grateful that you have us to live in this amazing nation. Let us take care of that which you have entrusted to us, not being arrogant of the world around us, nor proud of what we have. Let us be united in fighting for these freedoms. Let us work hard, serve harder, pray diligently and strive to glorify You. Yesterday we had Inger just playing on her blanket. I stepped into the kitchen for a second and when I returned, she wasn't in the same place! The first time she rolled was on mother's day, but I don't think she knew what she was doing. Now she has been rolling more and more, and I think she realizes it. It's the funniest thing to watch!

So it has been so long since I've done anything with this blog. Obviously I'm not a great blogger. Over the past few months, Inger has been more and more fun. She is starting to roll over, smiling and laughing a ton, and sleeping really well at night. At her 4 month appointment she was 16lbs 11oz and 25in. She is doing great. B and I love being with her.

We moved into a new house last month. It is so great to have a place of our own with neighbors that aren't on the other side of the wall. B loves taking care of the yard and he is really good at it too. I started back to work this last week. It was hard, but it will get better. God is my strength and He is the only One who is getting me through all that is going on!

We were suppose to go to Vegas this last weekend, but decided against it. Instead we went to Chelan. Boy was it beautiful! The place we stayed was amazing. I love looking out on a lake like that and seeing the vast mountains, knowing that each one of them was molded by my Maker. And as the evening approached, the sky was kissed with pink as the mountains sang farwell to the sun. What an artistic and creative God we have, who made such an awesome place for us to dwell.

So, I saw a bumper sticker today...it said "Make Art Not War". Hmmm. Okay, so I'm not against art or anything, but really? If we didn't have war, we wouldn't have America! We would still be under the tyranny of a crown. We also wouldn't have ANY of the freedoms we have today. We wouldn't even have the art that we have today because most of the art we love was inspired during times of turmoil. Can you imagine if our forefathers said, "let's make art instead of writing the declaration of independence." Ya, not so much.

At Inger's 2 month appointment last week she weighed in at 12 pounds 8 ounces and is 23 inches long. She's a healthy little bug! We are still working out the kinks in her daily schedule. She was kind of congested last week and then got her immunizations. It was a little bump in the road. She knows it's nighttime and sleeps really well, but still wakes to feed usually just once. Lord willing she will that feeding soon. We would all love that!

It has been beautiful and sunny the past few days! Oh, what a joy to have that kind of weather...and today it's rainy. Gotta be thankful though. The beauty that this area has is because of the Maker pouring rain down on days like today.

A lot has happened in this last month. Inger is starting to smile, she now weighs 10 pounds 11 ounces and she is starting to sleep good not only at night, but also for her naps. My dad, sister, neice and nephew came up to visit after my birthday. It was so wonderful to have my family around. Sofie of course, like Laila, went straight for the face and hair (she was excited that there was someone smaller than her to mess with). And then two weeks later my mom came for the weekend. We got some shopping done, and Inger was introduced to a bottle for the first time. It was nice because she was taking an hour to feed, and this gave me a chance to get some extra stuff done. However, since I spoke with a LC this last week, she is now just taking a half an hour to feed. Thank goodness. So, we are doing pretty good. B is working hard, at work, at school and now to get his commercial drivers license. By May, he will be done with everything. So exciting!

Inger is 17 days old now. She really doesn't like taking naps, but at least she sleeps well at nighttime. B is still working, praise the Lord! They needed more help for this next month, so he didn't get laid off. Inger had another doctors visit yesterday. She passed her birthweight by an ounce. She is now 9-3 and 21.5 inches. She's a healthy little bug.

We got snow a few days ago. Here is Inger with her first snow! Too bad she couldn't play in it.

So, she likes to suck on her fingers, thumb, whatever she can...however when she found her thumb, she didn't know what to do with the rest of her fingers. Can you guess what she did next? Yep, she put her fingers to her little face and clawed her own skin! Boy, was she unhappy! I know it may sound mean, but I laughed. The look on her face was priceless. She didn't know what happened. She was just content to suck on her thumb, then bam! It was the startled freaked-out look. And then came the crying. Funny thing is she did it two more times after this. Same thing. Maybe she will eventually learn, until then I just need to make sure her nails aren't weapons.

We had a little visitor on Saturday. Inger doesn't know it yet, but Caiden has the approval of dad...so far. Ha!

Our little trip out to TJs. I got to use the hot sling that my sister got me. Yes, there are skulls and hearts on it. Super fun! It was great to get out. Crazy how much longer it takes to get things done. I heard that happens, but didn't realize how true it is until now. Welcome to motherhood! Right?!?

It has been a big day today. Her food was delivered and she had a her first doctors appointment. We both needed a nap this afternoon. She is so funny. She looks around like she can see for miles, her neck is pretty strong for a 3 day old, and she is really good about putting her hands in her mouth (which she started the second she was born). Speaking of hands in her mouth, lesson to all who read and to all who hear those who read this...wash your hands! No mom wants your nasty unwashed hands touching their son or daughter's hands which will end up in their mouth. Anyways, we are doing pretty good. B has been so amazing and helpful. I'm so thankful that he had some time off.

At 3:30 in the morning on Sunday February 15, my water broke. We went straight to the hospital and by 10:07 Inger took her first breath. Ouch! That is all I'm going to say, and those who have gone through it understand. I was so thankful to be able to labor naturally, as God designed me to. To have her placed on me right after she shot out (as B puts it), was so intense. I couldn't believe it. It was over, and yet just begun. We got home yesterday afternoon and have been adjusting. The little bean doesn't realize that nighttime is when you sleep and daytime is when you are awake. She's funny though. Little Inger. I cannot thank God enought for His provision. His name is Jehovah Jireh...

I'm at 39 weeks and waiting for the day for our little one to come out and join us. It reminds me of the birth pains and waiting for Christ...not completely, but similar. How every once in a while there is this feeling, and there are these signs that show that it will be soon. But no one really knows the day or time that it will take place. We can do all in our power to try and bring it sooner, but only Christ knows when it really will happen. It's funny too because you know what awaits the other side of the process, but part of you still feels comfortable in what and where you are now.
